8 ways to free up your time as a founder
Most founders I know are either on back to back calls or travelling.
Here are some ideas to free up your time:
1. Ruthlessly check your calendar and ask yourself: do I actually need to be in this meeting?
2. Hire fractional or freelance resource to free up your time. There will be a little time up front to brief them, but your life will get easier after that
3. Get good at delegating. Delegating doesn't happen when people don't trust the team around them to execute to a high standard. Identify what's causing the execution quality gap and fix it
4. Use travel time as work time. Try not to drive where possible - travelling by train means you can travel and work at the same time
5. Book 'power hours' in your diary with your team. Super efficient and you can relax as you know it's allocated
6. Link in exercise with productivity. One of my favourites is exercising whilst responding to emails or doing work calls. Not for everyone but it works for me
7. Empower the people around you to make decisions when you're not in the room. Teach them the context around the decisions you make and why
8. Take regular breaks. This might sound counter-intuitive but having breaks makes your brain work better and means tasks can be done more quickly
